What happened to all the dragons? Did they all go extinct or went into hiding?
A human being with long blonde curly hair who was wearing a white dress and a flower crown wandered around in the forest. Until she made it to a meadow filled with colourful flowers. The tree bunches moved as if they were waving. Until something tackled her to the grass still ground and growled, she was frozen like ice scared for her life that the beast would bite.
But then something tackled the beast and saved her, the girl sat up and looked around to no longer see the beast but a dragon.
A real-life dragon standing right there!
It was standing there before her eyes, she had never seen anything as beautiful as the thing was alive, they were myth and legend but the girl never thought they were real.
The dragon and the girl stood there staring at each other until the dragon flew toward the female human and tackled her then started licking her and all the girl did was giggle as if she was an angel. Then the dragon stopped and flew beside her when the girl noticed that there wasn’t only one dragon there was about 15 in front of her staring like she was a target until they all tackled her to the ground and they all licked her and she giggled.
Until there was a roar and they all flew off of her and bowed to a large golden old dragon as if he was a king. The golden dragon walked up to the girl and sniffed her then started licking her and she started giggling and the old bearded dragon roared and a dragon grabbed her and put her on the king's back. The Dragon lifted his wing and started flying into the air and the other dragons followed. They flew over a river that turned into an ocean until they settled on an island where more dragons were flying around, playing fighting with another, sleeping near the water to only be woken up by the golden king's loud roar.
The dragon all stopped and watched as the golden old dragon landed.
The same red dragon grabbed the girl and put her back on land. A baby sky blue dragon walked up to the girl and sniffed her and then licked her a few times for the girl to start giggling. Then all 15 of the baby dragons tackled her and started licking her and she started giggling a little louder and all the dragons fell in love with her, liking the fact she wasn’t scared or going to hurt them.

Explanation of Director’s Purpose The Director’s purpose was to show us, the audience how the white treated non-white people back in the past when they would be scared or angry. Written Text Essay
A Game of Card - Describe at least one memorable idea in the text. Explain why this idea was memorable to you.
In the short written text “A Game Of Cards” by Witi Ihimaera, the narrator reflect on his Nani Miro’s life, how the narrator comes home when she was dying and was busy last time and couldn’t come over to see her “ There no such thing of being too busy to see your kuia, next time make time.” A memorable moment in the text was that Nani Miro was dying so all her family and friends came over and they spent her last few breaths being happy, playing cards. To me, it shows that we should be surrounded by family and friends we love and care about, and we should spend as much time with our family and friends, and we should be grateful for the people in our lifes. It also made me think back to when I played card games with my sibling and we would be competitive about it and get mad at each other but we were enjoying ourselves.
One reason why we should be surrounded by family and friends we love and care about. This was memorable to me because it shows me that we spend our last breath with the people we love. We see this in the text when Nani Miro is playing cards with her rival but best friend, Mr Heta. For example, when Nani Miro and Mrs Heta were bickering back and forward, the author wrote “ Nani and Mrs Heta started squabbling as they always did, pointing at each other and saying ‘You the cheat, not me’ and Nani Miro said ‘I saw you, Maka Tiko Bum, I saw you sneaking that card from under the blanket.’ She begins to laugh. Her eyes streamed with tears. While she was laughing, she died. Everybody was silent. Then Mrs Heta took the cards from Nani’s hand and kissed her. ‘You the cheat,’ she whispered ‘Yes Miro, you the cheat yourself-’ ” The purpose of this is to show us that in the Maori culture when it comes to death they come together and spend time together. This makes the reader thrilled that Nani Miro is surrounded by the people who care about her and love her, playing a game of cards with Mrs Heta and getting competitive with each other, and the most important thing, having fun. In reality, we think of death as a quiet, sad time but in the Maori culture when someone dies it’s time for family and friends to come together and to enjoy life.
Another reason is that we should spend as much time with our family and friends because life is short. I found this memorable to me because it made me think about what I would want before I die, which is spending time with my family and friends. We see this in the text when everyone found out Nani Miro was dying and all her family and friends rushed over to see her and a bit later Nani Miro asked Mrs Heta for a game of cards. For example, the author wrote “ Then she looked up, saw Mrs Heta and whispered to her ‘Maka...Maka Tiko Bum...I want a game of cards’ A pack of cards was found Everyone sprang into action. The old ladies sat on the bed, began to gossip, as usual, puffing their clouds of smokes. Nani Tama suggested a game of poker in the living room, so all the men trooped in there to do some serious gambling. Wherever there was a table - in the kitchen, on the verandah, anywhere, games of cards started up. The kids played snap in the other bedrooms and, as the night progressed, so did the games, the laughter, the Aroha” The purpose of this was to show us instead of being sad, and quiet the families and friends spend time playing cards and being happy. This makes the reader understand that in the Maori culture, they act way differently from some cultures. This makes the reader glad that Nani Miro spends her last breath having fun and playing cards with Mrs Heta before she dies. In reality, lots of people don’t spend the last breath of their loved one being happy and enjoying life, we spend it being sad and quiet, and sometimes people will say their last words and goodbyes.
One other reason is we should be grateful for the people in our life because sooner or later they will end up leaving us. I found this memorable to me because people leave but we should be happy and grateful that they were in our life. We see this in the text when the author writes “ We buried Nani Miro on the hill with the rest of her family. During her tangi, Mrs Heta played patience with Nani, spreading the cards across the casket. Later that year, Mrs Heta, she died too. She was buried right next to Nani so they could keep on playing cards. I bet they’re still squabbling up there. ‘Eee! You cheat, Miro!’ ‘You the cheat, Maka tiko bum. You the cheat.’ ” The purpose of this was to show us that Nani Miro was grateful that Mrs Heta was in her life because she asked for a game of cards when she was slowly dying. This makes the reader feel happy and understand that Mrs Heta wasn’t just Nani Miro’s rival when they were playing cards but she also was her best friend. In reality, we’re not really more grateful for the people in our lifes than we really should be, and it can be hard to find true close best friends.
In the text “A Game of Card,” a memorable idea was that Nani Miro was dying so all her family and friends came over and they spent her last few breaths being happy, playing cards. This idea was memorable to me. It showed me that we should us that we should be surrounded by family and friends, spend as much time with them as possible and we should be grateful that they are in our life. Of all reasons, the most important is that we should set time for our family and friends. If we don’t they’ll end up leaving you to go on their own path in life. For example, the narrator in “A Game of Cards” They were too busy to come home and spend time with Nani Miro until she was on her deathbed. This story shows us that we should make time for our family.
